2020 has definitely brought the challenges but don’t worry, we’re here to help navigate them with you.
Looking for an Island getaway but want to avoid the other people? Here are a few unique ideas to explore that you may not have tried before.
Some are a bit more adventurous than others, but they’re all fun, and very memorable, experiences if you’re up to them!
See the Island(s) from Above
Coastal Biplane Tours are the way to really get the birds eye view of the Golden Isles. There’s no better way to see it all than to literally see it all! The good news, it’s about as open air as you can get and there’s only room for you, your flight buddy and Pilot Phil. With several different options, you can ride for about 20 minutes to an hour.
Here’s a quick look at the basics:
We did the 30 minute tour that covered St. Simons Island, Sea Island, Jekyll Island, Little Cumberland, and Cumberland Island.

Get Eye Level with the Marsh
Island Airboat Tours took us for a ride along and WOW! It was an amazingly immersive nature experience and we got to see a whole new side of the Sidney Lanier Bridge.
Here are some of the basic Qs we had for this tour:
Note that the tides will change your trip. The higher the tide, the more into the marsh you can travel. To protect nature + wildlife, Capt. won’t take the airboat through the grass even though it could technically handle it. The lower the tide, the more nature activity you can see.
