The February Flavor of the Month cocktail feature at ECHO is the Pecan Old Fashioned
We couldn’t think of anything cozier for sipping in front of a fire than an Old Fashioned with a classic Southern spin.
Pairs well with the fireplace at ECHO but feel free to indulge at home as we’ve added the recipe below:
2 parts Bulleit Rye Bourbon
1/4 part Pecan Simple Syrup (see below)
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Want to make one at home? Here’s the secret to making the simple syrup: Bring water to a boil. Stir in brown sugar and Pecans. Turn down to the lowest setting. Simmer for 25 minutes. Let cool then fine strain out the pecans and roll them in sugar. Then garnish with a luxardo cherry.
