Top Golf Resort In The South For Groups

The editors of ConventionSouth Magazine have named The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort one of the top 18 golf resorts for groups in the South! Only 18 golf resorts from across the South and the Caribbean made the list and we are happy to be part of such a prestigious list. Resorts were nominated by readers and then selected by the editors of the magazine.

“Meeting planners and event organizers from across the country look for golf retreats in the South to hold their meetings and events, and ConventionSouth’s 2015 list of the “South’s Top 18 Golf Resorts for Groups” provides these planners with in-depth insight on a handful of the South’s most popular golf retreats.” said ConventionSouth editor Marlane Bundock. “Golfing offers and added layer of enjoyment to a meeting or event. Golf allows meeting planners to infuse team building and networking activities into their events, increasing attendance and engaging attendees. By adding the element of golf to the event agenda, meeting planners create a more memorable and valuable experience for attendees and therefore, increase the success of the gathering.”

ConventionSouth’s editorial team requested nominations for golf resorts throughout the South and the Caribbean Seas Region during the month of September and selected 18 of the best resorts for both golfing and meetings on several factors, including golf course accolades and golf club amenities for groups, affordability , accessibility, and the amount of on-site meeting venues and accommodations for groups. Eighteen were selected as a nod to the typical 18 holes available on a golf course. The November Issue of ConventionSouth will share this list with meeting planners from across the country that book meeting sites in the South.

5 Items Not To Forget On Your Wedding Day

Wednesday, October 8th, 2014

Oceanfront Wedding at The King and Prince Resort

We’ve all heard of “pregnancy brain” but many brides swear that while planning their wedding, they had “wedding brain.” With so much to do leading up to and on one of the most important days of your life, it’s no wonder many brides forget a thing or two! Here are the top 5 things that brides often overlook-and how you can be sure this doesn’t happen to you.

5. Break in your shoes: You searched high and low for months to find the most amazing pair of shoes to go with your dress…but after the 2nd hour in your dream shoes (and dress), your feet are killing you. By the time your feet are hurting, the only thing you can do is take off the shoes for a bit or be a trooper and suffer through the pain. Do yourself a favor and break in those dream shoes before your big day! Wear them for a few hours around the house every day to ensure that your feet are happy!

4. For outdoor weddings, remember the sunscreen: Our ocean front location means that we have many couples who tie the knot outside. Ceremonies can range from short and sweet to lengthy. No matter how long your ceremony is, be kind to your skin and apply sun screen before you get dressed. Task one of your bridesmaids with bringing sunscreen to re-apply if the weather or sun warrants it. This tip goes not just for you but for the wedding party and your guests. If you are having an outdoor wedding (especially in the afternoon), have a sunscreen station or hand out sunscreen favors to your guests so they don’t burn!

3. Don’t do anything drastic: We all want to look perfect on our wedding day. In an effort to do so, many brides make plans to dye or cut their hair, try a spray tan for the first time or get a facial just days before they say “I do.”  This can result in disaster and many women have heard horror stories about what can go wrong (or lived through it). If you want to treat yourself to a facial, do so 3 or 4 weeks prior to the wedding. If you are thinking of drastically changing your hair style, don’t! Just wait until after you get married. The last thing you want is for you to not like your new style and to be stuck looking at it in wedding photos for years to come. And that spray tan you’ve always wanted but never tried? Try it out a month or two before your wedding to make sure it will look ok. Then, re-apply a few days before the wedding.

2. Eat: With so much going on, many brides lose track of time and forget to eat. Ask your maid of honor or wedding planner to have non-messy finger food available for you throughout the day. The last thing you want to happen is for guests to hear your stomach growling while you say “I do.”

1. Make it official: Pack up the marriage license the night before the wedding. Double and triple-check to make sure you have it. Also, remember to have the officiant sign the document afterwards. You’d be surprised how many couples forget this very important paper.
