St. Simons Island Restaurant Guide – Part 2

Palmers Village Cafe

 

Palmer’s Village Cafe- This quaint cafe is located in the heart of the pier village. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with a unique twist on traditional comfort food.We love that their menu highlights fresh, local produce. Their location makes it the perfect place to grab a bite after shopping in the village. Staff Pick: Try a taste of the coast with their Surf Squared breakfast. Poached eggs over a crab cake served with a roasted red pepper grit cake.

 

 

 

 

Sals Neighborhood Pizzeria 

 

Sal’s Neighborhood Pizzeria- Sal’s is owned and operated by Sal Cenicola, a former boxer from New Jersey who makes the best pizza south of Jersey! If you are looking for an Italian restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and delicious food, Sal’s is the place. Many islanders who are originally from the north rely on Sal when they want an authentic pizza. So, naturally our staff pick is….pizza!

 

 

 

 

 

Delaney's Bistro 

Delaney’s Bistro- Delaney’s has been an island staple for many years and are located just a 10 minute drive from the resort. They are open for lunch and dinner and their menu offers something for every palate-from duck breast and lamb to fresh scallops and crab cakes. The restaurant is perfect for a quiet meal with good friends. Staff Pick- Their tasso chicken over linguine is delicious. Also, if they offer scallops as one of their specials, we highly recommend you try it!

 

 

Southern Soul Barbeque

 

 

 

Southern Soul Barbeque- Although Southern Soul has been around for a few years, they have quickly become a tradition for both locals and visitors. Their succulent BBQ and delectable sides have left us coming back for more, time and time again. We dare anyone to drive by their smoker and NOT stop! Dine outside on one of their picnic tables or, call ahead and take your meal to the beach! Staff Pick- Their ribs and brisket are out of this world and you cannot leave the island without trying their fried green beans!

 

St. Simons Island Restaurant Guide – Part 1

St. Simons Island is a food-lovers paradise. From fresh seafood to restaurants using farm-to-table ingredients, you can dine like royalty at many spots on St. Simons Island. Here are some of our picks for places to dine (along with some favorite menu items) when you are on Island Time.

Crabdaddys Seafood

 

1) Crabdaddy’s Seafood- Located just a block from The King and Prince, this island landmark always serves up delicious seafood and great service! Crabdaddy’s is a favorite among resort guests and locals. Staff Pick: Try the Teriyaki Steak & Scallops for their take on “Surf & Turf.”

 

 

 

Brogens

 

 

2) Brogen’s- If you are looking for a fun, casual place to catch the game and grab a bite to eat, Brogen’s is the place to go. They have a great selection of burgers, salads and sandwiches and their menu will not disappoint. Their prime location in the pier village area makes Brogen’s a great location to grab a bite and then do some shopping or people watching. Staff Pick: The Mushroom-Swiss Burger.

 

 

 

Halyards Restaurant St Simons Island

3) Halyards & Tramici- Whether you are in the mood for seafood or rustic Italian cuisine, executive chef and owner Dave Snyder has you covered. Halyards highlights a seasonal dinner menu full of fresh catches that were caught locally earlier that day and farm fresh produce. Tramici serves both lunch and dinner in a fun atmosphere. Enjoy fresh baked bread while you wait for your delectable entrees to arrive and whatever you do, don’t forget dessert! Staff Picks: Halyards- Try a cup of the Creamy Blue Crab Bisque followed by an entrée of Wild Georgia Shrimp with Gayla’s Grits. Tramici- Order a large bowl of P.E.I. Mussels to share and don’t forget about their homemade pizza.

 

 

blackwater grill4) Blackwater Grill- Located in Redfern Village on St. Simons Island, Blackwater Grill is a treat for your taste buds with their Cajun and coastal cuisine. Their spicy and savory menu items have kept locals coming back for over 13 years! Staff Pick: Crawfish Etoufee.
