5 Tips for Efficient Wedding Planning

Wednesday, January 29th, 2014

If you have a busy schedule or aren’t the type to relish in all the small details of planning a wedding, then efficient planning can be a lifesaver! Take a look our tips for managing your time and taking short cuts to cut down on planning:

Wedding Planning Idea #1

In order to stick to your budget, prioritize the most essential aspects of your special day. Number every detail of importance from the ceremony, attire, reception to the honeymoon. By prioritizing the most important details, it allows for decisive wedding planning and reduces the chances of you adding more than you can manage.

Wedding Planning Idea #2

Find one shop for wedding attire. Shop for your gown at a bridal shop that carries an extensive inventory of leading designers and different price points. This saves times by avoiding shopping at several different boutiques.

Here in Georgia, we have the celebrated bridal salon, Bridals by Lori, made famous by the cable television show, “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta.” The bridal store has an extensive collection of wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses, and even accommodates the groom and groomsmen, mother of the bride, flower girls, and other wedding attire accessories. This way everyone can order and schedule fittings at the same time.

Wedding Planning Idea #3

When it comes to the bridesmaids dress selection, it’s impossible to please everyone. Not to mention coordinating everyone’s schedule to try on a ton of dress styles. Instead of selecting one style bridesmaids dress, choose one color. Then, let each of your bridesmaids select a style that suits their figure and personal style.

Wedding Planning Idea #4

Shop in bulk. Save time shopping around for gifts to dole out to your guests and wedding party. Retailers, such as Sam’s Club, Costco and party planning stores offer troves of fun party goods. For unique wedding party favors, trinkets and even jewelry for your bridal party, try Etsy.com. Some Etsy merchants even offer bulk rate prices on their unique wedding party offerings.

Wedding Planning Idea #5

Find an all in one wedding destination. Alleviate the stress of going from the church, the reception hall to the honeymoon. Opt for a destination wedding, where the venue can accommodate all three facets of the wedding.

How to Choose a Beach Wedding Dress

Wednesday, October 16th, 2013

Saying “I Do” on the beach comes with no dress code. Yet most brides opting for a beach destination wedding have a number of wardrobe choices to make, such as:

  • Are you planning a casual or elegant beach wedding ceremony?
  • What style dress suits your figure and comfort?
  • What type of shoes do you want to wear?

On the cable show, “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta,” brides face family disapproval and indecision when it comes to a wedding dress. Yet, with a beach wedding destination, brides have the freedom to wear whatever they want.

One wedding planner says, “Beach weddings usually fall into two categories: casual or elegant. Brides ease the wedding gown decision once they have an idea of what type of ceremony they want.”

In the Georgia area, brides often rely on Bridals by Lori, a wedding boutique seen on “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta.” Many wedding gown consultants recommend figure flattering gown trumps over the most ornate. Most A—line wedding gowns, like the one featured here by Monique Lhuillier, flatter most body shapes.

For the bride planning nuptials at a beach wedding destination, comfort goes a long way. Primarily, the dress should be comfortable enough to walk around in. And because the bride will be outside, light fabrics are ideal.

Barefoot or shoes? From flats or flip flops to four-inch heels, a beach wedding allows for any type of shoe to be worn (as long as it is comfortable). As most women know, an uncomfortable pair of shoes can wreck any situation, especially your wedding! If the bride and groom plan to marry barefoot on the beach, be sure the area is clear of shells, twigs and other debris that may stab the feet.

Whatever gown and shoes you opt for at your beach wedding, don’t forget the sunscreen!
