		<description><![CDATA[My father, Lt. Frank Thomas Whittinghill  Jr was a radar office and served on the aircraft carrier CVE Thetis Bay during WWII. Near the end of the war, or possibly after the end, he was stationed at the King and Prince Hotel. Captain Boyd may remember him. Dad, of course, appreciated the duty on St. Simon&#039;s island verses sailing the South Pacific. Dad&#039;s sport was boxing while he was in college but decided soon that &quot;surely there is another sport at which I might excel&quot;. He was able take up golf during his free time while stationed at the King and Prince. He later became an accomplished player and enjoyed the game for the rest his life.]]></description>
